In order to enhance students’ awareness of safety protection, improve their safety protection ability and popularize common knowledge of laboratory safety, the laboratory Safety Working Group of the College and the Security Department of the Graduate Union jointly organized a lecture on safety knowledge themed with “Knowledge and Application of Personal protective Equipment in Laboratory” on December 30, 2019.

The company SAN Marco was invited to assist in the safety knowledge lecture. Mr. Lu Wen of the company explained the selection, using methods and precautions of personal protective equipment such as masks, respirators, safety glasses and protective suits commonly used in the laboratory in details. Students also experienced the characteristics of various protective equipments, learned the correct using and wearing, and had a more intuitive understanding of safety protection. In the Q&A session, students asked questions and interacted with each other actively, marking a successful end to the lecture.

The safety education activity is a beneficial attempt to improve personal laboratory safety awareness and prevention ability. More than 120 graduate students and teachers attended, including Deputy Dean Kong Qin, and Security Secretary of the College Zhang Ke.
